Tima is a Syrian artist currently living in Istanbul. She was born in the Jolan heights in Syria in 1965. Early in her childhood she moved with her family to Damascus due to the Israeli war against Jolan in 1967. She grew up and lived in Damascus until late 2015 when she had to move to Turkey with her two children due to the civil war in Syria. Tima got training from some of the most important artists in Syria, such as Nizar Sabour, Yasser Hamoud, Nazir Nasrallah and others. Since 1995 she has been a member of the Syrian Syndicate of Fine Arts with a license to practice artistic work, specializing in painting. Her work is housed in private collections across the Middle East and Europe.
